About the Collection
The collection consists of photographs and/or postcards of family, Norwich University football and some post-NU service in Germany, 1918-1922, 1943 (oversized) and 1949-1952. There is a certificate of appreciation from the Polish Camp of Frankfurt (no date - oversized) and a hand-drawn and hand-colored book comprising a certificate of excellence as military government commanding officer, 1948-1949. There is a wedding album, 24 May 1952, from Frankfurt, Germany, and Harold Radigan’s 1922 B.S. degree from Norwich University (oversized).
About Harold P. Radigan
Harold Patrick Radigan, originally from Rutland, VT, graduated with the NU Class of 1922. He was a civil engineering major. While at Norwich University, he served as class president and manager of both class and varsity football. He was a member of the freshman hop and centennial dance committees, the student council and S.A.T.C.
Following his time at NU, Harold Radigan served in the European theater during World War II. He went to work for the Department of State in 1949 as representative of the U.S. High Commissioner in Germany. His tour of duty ended in 1952. Harold Radigan earned the World War II Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal for Germany and 7 Bronze Service Stars. He returned to Germany in 1963 at which time he was awarded with the Honor Plaque from the city of Frankfurt, making him an honorary citizen of the city for his post war support and assistance.

Two hand-drawn portraits of Harold P. Radigan were transferred to the Sullivan Museum and History Center in February 2016.
