About the Collection
The collection includes Louis Frattini’s military service-related papers and photographs, bulk 1942-1945; records and photographs of his time at Norwich University, 1941-1943; and a scrapbook that Louis entitled “Diary of a Norwich cadet, or, How to be a wolf in any type of clothing,” 1941-1943. There are some papers and photographs that precede his time at Norwich University.
About Louis Frattini
Louis Charles Frattini was a native of Barre, VT. He attended Norwich University from 1941 to 1943 and is considered a member of the Class of 1945. He served in the Army of the United States during World War II in the 2nd Armored Division from 1943 to 1945. While serving his country as platoon sergeant in the 102nd Cavalry Recon Squadron, he earned the Bronze Star, Belgium Medal of Merit and the Purple Heart. He married Barbara McKnight and the couple had four sons. The control file included with the collection contains additional information on the life and service of Louis Charles Frattini.
