About Russell Capelle
Russell Capelle joined the Norwich University faculty in 1954 and became associate professor of government and history in 1957. He received his A.B. degree from Dartmouth College in 1936, his A.M. degree from Tufts in 1937, and his Ph.D. from Boston University in 1958. In 1982, he retired as professor emeritus from Norwich University. Capelle was a violinist and a charter member of the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra. He died on 9 October 2005.
