About the Collection
The collection consists of a register (1 volume) that records visitors to the campus for open houses, 1952-1953; for parents day, 1953; for a meeting of the Vermont guidance association, 1953; and for a meeting of the heating and ventilating institute, 1954. Visitor information recorded in the register includes guests’ names, addresses, and school affiliations predominantly. The directors of admissions during the years, 1952-1954, when this register was in use, were Robert Darius Guinn (director from 1944-1953) and Lloyd Cain Harper (director from 1953-1971). Also included are materials sent to prospective, entering and returning students, 1994-2008, as well as charts displaying student survey statistics for the classes of 1979 through 1982 and photographic view books containing a factual and visual overview of Norwich University in the 1960s.
Box 1 contains the visitors register and Box 2 contains student packets and mailings, statistics charts, and photographic view books. 3 posters: “Expect Challenge, Achieve Distinction,” “The Corps of Cadets,” and “Norwich University: what do you want from a college?” are included in OSD.1.8.
Admissions is administered by the director of admissions under the vice-president for enrollment management and communications at Norwich University. Search Terms
