The collection consists primarily of records created and/or accrued by Norwich University engineering faculty during the period 1903-1969 and 1990-2005. Records in the collection include both civil engineering field books and materials related to visiting committees and reflect the civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering departments. Also included are records relating to the Order of the Engineer, compiled by Professor Fred White. A content listing of materials in the collection is included.
About the David Crawford School of Engineering
Norwich University offered engineering courses from its very beginning as the American Literary, Scientific, and Military Academy. Today, the David Crawford School of Engineering is comprised of the departments of civil and environmental engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and mechanical engineering. The David Crawford School of Engineering was named in honor of David C. Crawford, class of 1952, and his father David Crawford, class of 1922. The collections of the university archives also include photographs collected by the elder David Crawford during his time as a Norwich student.
