About Nicholas W. Mansolillo
Originally from Cranston, RI, Nicholas Mansolillo was a member of the Arnold Air Society, the Maroon Key club, and Alpha Kappa Psi during his time at Norwich University. He also served on the honor committee and as class treasurer. Following his graduation from Norwich with the class of 1983, Nicholas Mansolillo served as a missile combat crew commander at the Minuteman II missile silos at Ellsworth Air Force Base outside of Rapid City, SD, from 1984-1988. As Mansolillo reports, “Minuteman II missiles were part of history ending ‘the Cold War era’.” He also served in Desert Storm from 1991 to 1992. Mansolillo was with the 3rd Army out of Atlanta, GA, when he was assigned to the 22nd Supply Command in Arcentcom as an acquisition/contracting officer stationed in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He wrote, “We wore many hats as the contracting officers responsible for ice/water, flatbed trucks, heavy equipment movement, etc. I had to make sure roads were passable/clear to travel from mines, damaged or blown-up vehicles, trash/debris, etc., so my trucks could get supplies to the troops and coalition forces.” Nicholas Mansolillo now (2010) lives in Arlington, VA.
