About Arthur Goodrich
Charles Arthur Goodrich, known as Arthur Goodrich, was a native of Northfield, VT. He attended Norwich University and, had he graduated, would have been a member of the class of 1927. He was an early pioneer of skiing in Vermont and his collection reflects his interest and accomplishments in the sport. He was a Class A downhill racer in the 1940s and continued skiing and racing into his 88th year. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol, assigned membership number 178 (now numbering in the thousands). Goodrich was also the director of the Mount Mansfield Ski Club and an officiator at the Stowe Ski Resort for many national and international ski events. During World War II, he worked for the Adjutant General’s office in Montpelier, VT. Arthur Goodrich worked for the Northfield Telephone Company and TDS Telecom for more than sixty years. He also enjoyed golf, tennis and motorcycles. He received an honorary BS degree from Norwich in 1988. He married first Charlotte Brown (d. 1959) and second Erna Jean Lehman in 1961.
