About the Collection
The collection contains Burditt’s military records, 1917-1919, including ID cards, ticket books, orders and newsletters. Together they help to summarize his WWI service. Also included are Rollin Burditt’s three diaries, 1917-1919. The diary entries for his time overseas are written in brief, often cryptic, pencil notations and can be difficult to read. There are also military training notebooks and records, dated 1917, that help shed light on his responsibilities as an aerial observer. Also in the collection are photographs, 1918-1920, some of which are aerial photographs. Some are identified by captions and some are not.
